since i still a tid bit of my free time- i’ve decided to write a little bit of this semester’s first design project: the cube transformations- so basically, the objective of this project is to “play with forms”- which sounds easy, but it wasn’t really that easy at all..
so we were given three different sizes of cubes, and our task is to make something aethestically nice out of it- by form addition and subtractions- and in the early sketches i set the goal to create a multi-layered feel or several superimposed concepts within one whole idea..
nevertheless, in the end, it still looks quite cubic, yet with some angular juxtapositions- also together with the emphasize of the axis, highlighted with the blue counterparts.. and there is also a simple pillar penetration- which is advised by the lecturer..
honestly, the moment i took the model into the classroom- i was so afraid, well cause other students built indeed very good models to be compared with mine- yet in the end, i was suprised to have an A-, most probably because of the design sketches I have drawn (which does really sought high attention)-
anyways; again i’ll link you to some of the references;
