frank gehry in simpsons

frank gehry in simpsons
I know this is dated but, funny stuffs on architecture never ends- so some of you might know about this, simpsons at one time parodied frank gehry- with marge calling him as the ‘bestest architect in the world’

it starts with springfield folks wanted to re-establish their town wieth a new cultural centre, of course, designed by frank gehry the architect. gehry initially crumpled marge’s letter and threw on the ground, but ironically the formĀ inspires gehry to design a $30 million dollar concert hall.

frank gehry and his residence
‘yellow’ frank gehry reads through his letters, in front of his house. hey, that’s a cool representation of his residence, way much better looking than the original one!

gehry residences
his house never looked nice to me, but that’sĀ his experimental stuff. yet, simpsons made it looked way better

crumpled paper inspiration
so, this is how frank gehry got his ideas huh? from a crumpled paper?

frank gehry; springfield concert hall
behold, the springfield’s new concert hall

frank gehry; construction of springfield concert hall
and guess how it was constructed. a rectilinear skeletal system was knocked so that it bends into the final form- well, it turns out that springfieldians didn’t enjoy classical music- at the end it was almost abandoned. therefore, they held a ymeeting and the once concert hall was sold to make way for a state prison

frank gehry; state prison
I guess this would be the most contemporary prison ever built, or should i say the only frank gehry building as a prison!

and hey, enjoy the compiled clip from the simpsons!
