grabbing flickr photos

grabbing flickr photos
if you still havn’t aware of it, flickr is the one of the largest photo source available on Net. flickr have great shots of photos, and lots of them too.. but if you are some sort of a photo collector like me, you would notice that it wasn’t all that easy to grab photos from flickr as you may think..

traditionally, we would right click any image we see fit, and select “save picture as”, but this method doesn’t always work in flickr- cause it will give you a “spaceball.gif” which is apparently a blank image. so, now I’m going to teach you few methods on how to grab images from flickr.com

method one-

if you are lucky enough, there are times that the different sizes of the photos are available- and you can directly have the access to the different photos from there- here is one example where to look for the links

method two -

if method one doesn’t work or if there is no available sizes, there you have to opt for method two;
1. right click and select view source
2. a notepad will pop out with a lot of HTML codes, now press ctrl+f
3. key in jpg and click next until you find an URL similar to this;

4. there you got the URL for the image, but you’re not done yet..
5. copy the URL into the address bar, but erase “_s” from the URL, for example
    “123_s.jpg to 123.jpg”
6. the browser will directly open up the image for you, and there’s nothing else to stop you from right-clicking that image to save it down for your own pleasure
