historiography
my historiography of website design was started a long time ago.. like the rise and fall of civilizations on earth, all my websites have never stood against the test of time.. or it’s just me that made the decision to revolt against all my website layout design and administration.. anyway here’s some of the timeline..
united_2a : right, this is equal to the dark age of my hobby..the website design.. in 2003, there was an idea of creating a website about seven friends, including me.. which we named our group a weird name.. the united =.= … and in case if you havn’t noticed.. that particular “2a” was actually the our class.. Form 2A, get it? ..yeah, that time it was all about hosting at geocities… being limited by 15mb size.. we continously expanded “the united” into 2c, 2d, 2e until 2g to grant us more webspace.. it was like striving with simple designs like midi playback and distinct contrast of colors.. and eventually i got a foot on javascripting… well it was like those web cursors and matrix effects..

uSeven : early 2004.. the first overthrow of my design.. being a bit delighted to learn some basics of Flash MX 2004.. the whole design of “the united” was renamed into “useven”.. with the theme of silver and orange colors.. lolx.. somehow like W800 of sony ericsson phones.. at first I played with Flash buttons.. and slowly moving into Flash movies… and again.. it declined as the public examination comes into the picture… well anyway.. the website of uSeven are actually still on the geocities host http://www.geocities.com/united_2a/ .. being outdated and slowly fading against the fade of time..

ROPeace : end of 2004.. the period of Ragnarok Online civilization.. everyone’s playing the game.. and one who lefts out is considered a geek.. well this actually isn’t a lot about web design.. but there was once i managed to create a private server..yeah, that’s right.. a Ragnarok Online private server.. so therefore I managed to create a website about my server ROPeace… and in this time, I learned how servers really works.. and managed to turn my desktop into a server.. with Apache of course..
yangsquare v1.0 : resetting and yet another resetting of ROPeace, turned into another 2005 dawn of my website design historiography.. the yangsquare (c)… managed to found a way to get a free domain name without a single cent from my pocket.. coupled with my desktop as the web server.. i created a fully interactive Flash site of the first yangsquare.. but something is going wrong.. a Flash site means even more difficult to update..
sungsiew.com : mid 2005, going active into the forum posting.. and almost gotten myself to become the webdesigner of e-sandakan.net.. until knowing that everyone isn’t paying any real attention into it…anyway.. posting in the forum also sparked the idea of an official school website.. which supported by our teacher MsLat - the dream actually came true after three to four months of work ending in the early 2006.. http://www.sung-siew.com was once the elegant black design with superior flash effects… and with the implementation of forum in mid 2006…however things aregoing slightly downward as the color theme did not suit the school… and the forum was finally closed down too.. even worse..these are the times where we all had to start to concentrate on our studies…for the final public exam..

yangsquare v2.0, v3.0 : after trying out some kind of forum implementation http://www.mile4.net as a substitute to the school’s closed forum.. the idea seemed wouldn’t work as it was not easy to attract local visitors.. anyhow.. towards the end of 2006.. i tried blue themes over my design.. with v2.0 on my apache server.. and finally switching to a totally free webhost in v3.0 .. incorporated a game arcade into v3.0 .. and kept a steady low count of visitors enough to keep the site awake..

yangsquare v4.0 - the way of peace.. 2007, still in the blues theme.. the administration was finally incorporated into a blog system.. which updating and managing the pages becomes easier and easier… and trying to accumulate as much information as possible..to increase the visitors count..that’s what that keeps a website fresh.. to stand the test of time..
update: 2008, woot architecture began to take over my life. there is too much creativity needed for architecture- from now on, this will be an architecture-dedicated blog.
