Hi. I'm an Architecture student from Bangladesh....yes where this great Architecture is!
I've been there 3 times, its a restricted area and nobody can get inside. I went from our school in grades 3 and 9, and then from my Architecture school this month.
It was an awesome experience in my words! Fascinating.........and what enhanced me most was the column less Architecture. The building has only one column that goes through the middle of the library room. and rest the walls are load bearing one's, made of concrete.........
well, now I'm about to write a report on my tour and suddenly found this site.

A person bursting into tears will not seem overwhelming once you get yourself inside Jatiyo Shangshad Bhaban. Firstly you will experience what Space actually means, and when you connect the metaphors with the design you will understand how great architecture could be.

great that u have kept parts from the documentary as clippings.... good to read your views as well. But nowhere have u mentioned the fact that Louis Kahn's architecture was so tightly "Disciplined"....at no point in his buildings do you feel that the guy wanted to "Let loose" so to speak....Everything adheres to principles and yet is so magnificiently dramatic....

My name is Abigail. I'm leaving a message here because I find the quote "Architecture is timeless" interesting. I've heard it ast once from each of the senior architects I've met in my uncle's office. I think all the great architect's passion came from that sentence alone.

Like my uncle Ken always said, "When I die, I die, but my buildings stay on forever."
