guess what? zaha hadid tried her fingers in mobile architecture! pritzker laureate of 2004, of should I said the first female pritzker winner. it sure has been a tough time for her, you know, being an Iraqi-born woman in a western-man dominated field (maybe plus some japanese?). she’s famous for her deconstructivist styles, with impractical designs as what critiques said. even not much of her projects never leave the drawing board (or rather lcd screens)!
although her buildings are aesthetically beautiful and awe-inspiring, I still do not like the fact that her works are way a bit complicated, I don’t know, but still, right, she did a great job.
ok,back to mobile architecture, this time, zaha hadid designed the chanel pavillion, for hong kong.

wow, just notice the fluidity of the forms- it’s incredibly seamless, but somewhat organic in nature. being described as a “nomadic, UFO-shaped art pavillion”

of course, futuristic design, one of the trademarks of zaha hadid. but I still don’t believe it is actually a ‘mobile’ construction. it seems like steel cladded in white (maybe it’s just in the model?)

continously arched. the glazed roof could be adjusted for temperature, as a plus to having the focal point of the interior constantly bathed by light.
now, it’s at hong kong, next stop would be at tokyo- hey do chanel stop by at kuala lumpur too? less likely. so end to end, a quote from hadid on her work;
“I really believe in the idea of the future,” Zaha Hadid upholds her ideas in futurism.
