slumdog millionaire: taj mahal
have you watched the slumdog millionaire, the highly acclaimed academy award movie that bagged 8 oscar trophies?
well, they had this scene in taj mahal and I can’t bother but to upload it here. so this is what really happens when two slum kids found their way to taj mahal.
note: yahoo and fox removed the video due to copyright concern, so I guess you guys have to find a way to watch it yourselves.
“when mumtaz died, the emperor decided to build 5-star hotel for everyone who like to visit her tomb… but the swimming pool as you can see was completed on schedule…”
“the guidebook was written by a bunch of lazy fat indian beggars…”
wife tourist: how did she die?
kid: a road traffic accident…
husband tourist: I thought she died in childbirth..?
kid: … exactly, sir – she was on the way to hospital when it happened
nevertheless, believe it or not- the taj mahal you’ve seen in the movie was a fake one, a replica built by chandrakant nithin desai (nitin desai), arguably the most famous art director in asia since danny boyle was refused permission to shoot at the real taj mahal, agra due to heritage concerns.
in the end, if you wish to film an academy award movie, be sure to shoot some architectural wonders in it.
